Why A.C.E?
There is extensive information about A.C.E. if you follow the A.C.E. link but just quickly we would like to comment about our own family's experience with A.C.E.
We found A.C.E.'s phonetic approach to learning to read excellent. We have two children who were struggling to read with the "Look and Say" method and one who had no problems. All three children completed the A.C.E. ABCs programme. We found it was highly successful in teaching our children how to read where the "Look and Say" method had failed.
As our children grew older we knew that with A.C.E. all our core curriculum
was covered. We felt confident to homeschool our children even during secondary
years, even though neither Robert nor I were trained teachers. Our children's
learning wasn't limited to their A.C.E. PACE (A.C.E.'s self-instructional
workbooks) work. Because of the flexibility of homeschooling and the A.C.E.
programme our children spent time with us learning from such activities such
as grocery shopping and helping in the office. It also allowed our children
to pursue interests outside the home like an art course and becoming a youth
cell leader at our church.
